I believe it is fair to say I have literally have grown up at Capozza Tile & Floor Covering Center. As a child I would come to the office with my father and help out by sweeping the warehouse and doing any other odd job around the office that I could find. I spent my high school vacation time working in the warehouse and in the field with our installers. After graduating from Bryant University with a BS in Business Administration, I was hired by Bentley Mills, a commercial carpet manufacturer. I worked as a Sales Representative in Maine, New Hampshire and Vermont for three years forging relationships with many of New England’s finest flooring stores including Capozza! My experience working for Bentley was invaluable; I was able to get a feel for the procedures and processes that go into the operations of a large international business. As I progressed with my career, I continuously pondered on how I could apply the business practices to my own family’s business as I knew I eventually would want to be an integral part of Capozza’s future.
Working in the flooring industry for a larger corporation opened my eyes to the passion I had for my family’s business. In 2009 the timing was right for me to return to Maine, and join the Capozza team as a Commercial Project Assistant. At first, I worked closely assisting all of our project managers, later settling in and assisting our Senior Commercial Project Manager Tony DiRenzo. In late 2010 I furthered my knowledge and became an Estimator & Project Manager for my own projects while still assisting Tony on our large commercial projects. Over the next three years I was committed and passionate to the company and our clients and strived to soak up as much knowledge and guidance as possible from our seasoned team. In 2013 I became manager of our Commercial Division. I have slowly transitioned from project management to divisional management and really took the time to listen to our team and partners in order to fully understand our role in the industry and the community. In 2014 I was named Vice President of Capozza Tile Co, which encompasses the Capozza Tile & Floor Covering Center’s Commercial and Residential Divisions as well as our sister store Old Port Specialty Tile Co.
While overseeing our Commercial Department I started working hand in hand with our partners Mike Fazekas and Dave Michaud of DMT on some large scale mitigation and self leveling projects. In 2015 after much success together in the field, we started discussing the possibility of joining together to expand Capozza’s products and services. In June of 2016 we joined forces and DMT Floors became part of the Capozza family rebranded as Capozza Concrete Services, aka CCS.
As Capozza’s now growing team’s Vice President, I wear many hats. Leading the smooth transition into CCS and integrating our teams, goals and culture is a priority. I work closely with Mike and Dave in getting our latest addition up and running and working as part of the Capozza Team. I am proud to have spearheaded this growth for our company, highlighting our continued strength and longevity as a third generation run business.
In addition my Commercial and CCS duties I oversee our Residential and Old Port Division Managers. This allows the company to work as a unified team and provide our clientele with one strong, unified company for all their flooring needs. A Primary goal for me as Vice President was to create and lead our company’s Leadership Team. This team is comprised of group of employees from all four divisions that is tasked with continually improving our processes and operations to ensure that we remain a leader in the industry for years to come!
